Disclaimers

This is the “The lawyers made me do it” page (or they would have, if I had lawyers). Some disclaimers that apply to all content on the site:

  • All of these opinions are mine. Where I’m talking about my personal experience, I’ll say so. When I’m talking about the experience of someone I know directly, I’ll say that (but keep in mind that I may have gotten parts of it wrong, because I’m not them).
  • Since I’m talking primarily about my own experience, I cannot say for sure if any of these practices will work for you, and I make no promises as to what will or won’t happen if you adopt them.
  • I am not an MD, a psychiatrist, or a psychologist, nor do I play one on TV. I am not qualified to diagnose or treat any mental illness or condition. Nothing I suggest here should be taken as appropriate treatment for mental illness, although it may be helpful for some in conjunction with appropriate treatment. If you have a mental illness, please find a supportive therapist you can work with.
  • If you are a survivor of abuse: I love you, I believe in you, and please please please find a supportive therapist you can work with. Things that I share here may be helpful in conjunction with that process, but nothing on this site should be taken as a substitute for therapy.
  • Links to external vendor sites may be affiliate links, where I earn a small commission if you buy something. Having said that, I won’t link to anything that I personally didn’t find valuable.
  • All reviews and mentions of books, apps, and anything else I might decide to talk about are unsolicited unless explicitly stated otherwise. I talk about things because they are meaningful to me, or because someone not connected to the creator suggested that I review them. Having said that, if you want to solicit a review for any reason, you can reach me here.
