Bio
After getting a PhD in Computer Science focusing on the development of educational simulations, I started my professional journey by spending 20 years in the technology industry both developing and managing the development of educational software. All throughout my career in EdTech, my focus was on creating software that provides opportunities for students to really learn things.
Additionally, I spent 12 years of my time in EdTech managing a team of up to 12 engineers and learning designers. My favorite part of the job was working with them to help them figure out who they wanted to be professionally and how to get there.
In parallel with all of that, I have spent more than 33 years in 12-step recovery, and have been guiding people through the recovery process for the vast majority of that time. This has given me unparalleled experience with people who are building (or rebuilding) their confidence, as well as a deep knowledge of just how flawed and wonderful people can be.

All of that has led me to a deep understanding of how people learn and grow. I believe that learning is by doing, and that the vast majority of what a good teacher does is give you interesting things to do and a safe space to do them. I believe that the best environment by far for personal growth is one where you have a support system to whom you can be completely honest about your hopes and dreams, fears and aspirations, successes and failures, and who will encourage and challenge you along the way. And, I believe that everyone has the potential to grow into a confident, courageous, fulfilled person. My management experience and my 12-step experience are both powerful resources that I can draw on in my coaching practice. I look forward to helping you build your confidence so that you can be the best version of you that there is!
